Nestled at the foot of Errigal Mountain is Ionad Cois Locha, a visitor and heritage centre. Visit the preserved homestead where the Ferry family; Manus, Sophie and Pádraig lived in and gathered resources to live off the land. Visitors get the unique experience of a live spinning and weaving demonstration with knowledgeable guides, learning about the hard work and steps Manus and his siblings would have taken when creating his world renowned Donegal Tweed. Visitors enter the cottage where the aroma of turf fire fills the air, and the essence of Ireland's rich heritage echos. Here, the fashion editor of Harper's Bazaar was once photographed amidst rolls of Manus's tweeds along with Henry McElhinney’s tweed coat that is hung to this day.
